Making Natural Liquid Soaps
by Catherine Failor
144 pages, 7 x 10 trim size, full-color photographs throughout.
Create all-natural, inexpensive hand soaps, shampoos, shower gels, bubble baths, and much more using a simple double-boiler technique. Learn to blend oils, additives, color, and scent to develop one-of-a-kind liquid soaps.
Catherine Failor has been making soap for more than 20 years. Her experience in graphic design and interest in science has enabled Catherine to test hot-process soapmaking, a technique not usually accessible to the home soapmaker. She has developed new ways to make colorful, scented soaps in the home kitchen, and shares them in her Storey books, Making Transparent Soap and Making Natural Liquid Soaps. A bindup of these two books was created in 2001, and it is titled Soapmaking: Making Transparent and Natural Liquid Soaps.
Catherine’s entrepreneurial ventures include Copra Soap, a specialty soap manufacturing company, and her current venture, Milky Way Molds, producing “the finest selection of craft molds in the Milky Way Galaxy.”
