General Description Cedarwood Himalayan is a tall, evergreen tree up to 50 m high, occasionally more. It grows extensively on the slopes of the Himalayas in northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Produces an oil very similar to the Atlas cedarwood. Cedar trees date back to the Bible where they symbolised everything fertile and abundant.
Odour Description This pale yellow green oil has a rich, herbaceous, pleasant, smoky, woody-balsamic undertone.
Blends well with All of the citrus oils, as well as Rosewood, Bergamot, Cypress, Chamomile, Cassia, Jasmine, Neroli, Rosemary, Ylang Ylang. Base Note for blending.
Uses In India, Himalayan Cedarwood oil has been shown to possess insecticidal and antifungal properties and to have some potential for control of fungal deterioration of spices during storage. Antiseptic, antiputrescent, antiseborrheic, aphrodisiac, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, mucilytic, sedative (nervous), stimulant (circulatory), tonic.
Balancing, calming, used for concentration and clarity.
Fragrance component and fixative in household products, soaps and detergents as well as perfumes, especially men's fragrances.
Application Massage, bath, skin care, hair care, compress, inhalation, meditation, diffuser.
Safety Precautions Non-irritant, non-sensitising.
