Newsletter - Aug 2012 - How's Your Flu Season Going?

What a month July was - it started off good, website was back on track, I turned 46 and joined the gym, and completed 3 papers in my Professional Coaching Diploma in 3 weeks - eek, won't do that again!
And then I got a phone call last Monday to say my son (18) was going into hospital due to heart problems... and whilst sitting there in A&E, I picked up the influenza virus doing the rounds and let me tell you, if you haven't had it yet, stay away from anyone who's got it - it is N.A.S.T.Y.!!!!

Hubby Steve has it now, reckons he hasn't been this sick since he was 15 and that was back in 1972!

It hit me like a ton of bricks, my bedroom is on the upper floor, my still room 2 levels down and I could barely move from the bed to the ensuite, so there was no way I could get to any of my potions down in the dungeon to speed up the process - I was stranded in bed for 3 whole days (and that wasn't a pretty site lol). Luckily I had my trusty Homeoceuticals Nurodol in my bedside drawer which is a homeopathic formula for fever that I use for fevers, pain and inflammation as paracetamol gives me liver pain, and as I'm anaphylactic to asprin, ibuprofen isn't an option.

So I didn't get to put the Bug Buster Blend into effect, but have had Oregano essential oil (kills just about every virus and bacteria going) burning in oil lamps since Monday and Steve has not been as bad as me.

As we knew what it was when Steve showed the first signs, we did the full protocol - Herbal Elixir for the Respiratory System, Soothing Chest Balm (new product and this month's Contest Prize), and lots of fluids, soup, vitamins (Orthoplex BACE, Clinicians Super Family C 550, Lifestream BowelBiotics 14+) and fruit.  We also used the Nurodol which lowers fever slightly but doesn't kill it like paracetamol does, as really, when you have a virus you want your temperature to sit around 38.4degC to stimulate your white blood cell army to attack the invasion.

So, to help combat this flu that is being quoted in the papers as being on a par with the Swine Flu of 2009, I am offering you 10% off the following products and a few more in the Nutrition -> Cold & Flu Relief and Children's Health sections.

Monthly Contest:
Last month's winner of our first ever contest was Kasey Horne of Rotorua.  There were 37 entries, so well done Kasey.  We hope you find your bottle of Bug Buster Blend very useful.

This month's contest is a 60gm jar of Soothing Chest Balm. Enter now...

Shipping and Payment of Orders:

You may have noticed there's been a few changes in regards to payment and shipping options.
If you live in a Rural Delivery area, NZ POST now charge an extra $2.80 for rural deliveries, so in most cases I will now send these via Fastway Couriers (my local post office is a 7km round trip so I charge an extra fee for this as well - when I was in Northland, it was across the road).

Due to the slow processing time of manual credit card payments (it went from 2 days to 5 days at the Bank's end), I have converted over to PayPal.

There are 2 buttons for Payment Options

  1. Credit Card Invoice - we will send you an invoice via PayPal (accepts all International Credit Cards)
  2. Direct Bank Deposit - NZ

What's Coming Up?
As next month is Spring, I will be doing a feature on Mineral Cosmetics and how to make your own.  If you have any questions or special requests, please ask them on my FaceBook page https://www.facebook.com/AmorAromatherapy?ref=hl so I can answer them in next month's newsletter.

Enjoy
