French Argelitz Green Clay

Healing. For tissue repair.  Use for all skin types.

It draws toxins from the skin when used as a poultice, including acne and can also be used in the bath for excessive perspiration or detoxification.

Very cleansing and firming when applied as a beauty mask for face and body.

When using Superfine French Green Clay add purified water, or floral water, mix into a paste and apply to the face or body. Allow to dry, rinse it off, and use your favorite moisturizer to finish. We recommend that you also try adding your preference of essential oils or dried herbs to compliment the mix.

Usage levels:
~ 5 - 40% in masks
~ Blend into the product when cool
~ Homogenisation is recommended

Incompatibilities:
~ Dissolves in highly acidic and highly alkaline solutions.  
~ When buying in larger quantities, we recommend you use a plastic spoon to measure out and mix your clay.

To make a face mask:

  1. Blend 1 heaped teaspoon green clay with 2 teaspoons water in a glass, porcelain or plastic container.
  2. Mix it into a smooth paste and apply a thin layer to a clean damp face.  
  3. Leave on for approximately 15 minutes, however do not let the mask dry out on your skin.
  4. Rinse off with warm water.

Alternatives to water are floral waters, fruit and vegetable juices, herbal infusions, aloe vera and yoghurt.  A small aomount of vegetable oil may be added to prevent the mask from drying out.

Essential oils ideal for sensitive skin are german chamomile (blue chamomile), everlasting, geranium, lavender, neroli (orange blossom).

For a body mask, increase the quantities to cover the areas that the mask is being applied to.
