Fretfulness Synergy

Starting at: $16.91

When your Baby is upset, it can sometimes be distressing for both of you, especially when they are really little and you haven't yet learnt what all the different cries mean.
This blend of essential oils is soothing for everyone - Bubs, Mum, Dad, Siblings and Caregivers. And it has the added bonus of being able to help your child calm down after experiencing a night terror when they're too scared to resettle.

  • Geranium - has the ability to reduce chronic and acute anxiety and is mildly sedating.  It is boosted by the following oils...

  • Lavender - has the ability to reduce anxiety and decreasing heart and respiratory rates which is why I added it to this blend.  Lavender is recommended for helping with sleep, however it is only effective in low doses as moderate - high doses actually stimulates the mind so please do follow the instructions if you are using it at night.

  • Mandarin - is highly recommended for children as it soothes restlessness and calms the sympathetic nervous system, helping to reduce irritability.  It also balances out the lavender, dampening down the stimulative effect.

  • Tangerine - relieves nervous tension, stress and anxiety, helps reduce depression and fatigue and I added this mainly for you so you can keep on top of things and be able to focus on yourself and life outside of your upset child (eg when they've just had that massive tantrum on the way to daycare and you have a business meeting to walk into!)

How to use:
For Bedrooms, add 1 drop to a room diffuser or aroma lamp.  If you don't have a diffuser, add 1 drop to a tissue and leave it at the bottom of the cot, not near your child's face.

For Living Areas, add 2 drops to a room diffuser or aroma lamp.  If you don't have a diffuser add 1 drop to a tissue and leave it near a heat source or tuck it inside your shirt whilst your cuddling them.

For Bathrooms, add 1 drop to a teaspoon of oil (any cooking oil will work) or Amor Gentle Body Wash and add it to the bath water and bathe your little one until they settle down... baths are very calming for children.

If you have a child that doesn't like to be "abandoned" (daycare, preschool, babysitters, etc), add 1 drop to a hanky and let them have it in their pocket - they can pull it out whenever they're feeling distressed and sniff it.
And you might want to consider adding it to a roll-on bottle and using it for yourself if it's all getting a bit much....

Comes packaged in a blue dripulator bottle with a black tampertel lid.

We had a baby that didn't like to sleep, didn't like to be cuddled, and every time you picked him up would scream, as well as when he wet his nappies (see anti-rash cream)... it was exhausting to say the least... and we didn't know about the damaged lung until years later!  But it explained a lot when we did.

This blend was slowly developed over a 3 year period as I tried different oils in different ratios, and attempts became more serious when he started having night terrors at 3.

I was lucky enough to have a fan diffuser by then, and I would add a couple of drops to it downstairs (we were in a little flat) and let it drift up to his bedroom and into mime. Considering he was a brittle asthmatic as well, I'm not sure who was more distressed... him or me, however I do know that this blend helped my sanity when I became a full-time single parent student studying for my aromatherapy diploma a year later.
