Hazelnut Oil Corylus avellana

Botanical Name: Corylus avellana
Extraction Method:  Cold Pressed (New Zealand)

Description:  Hazelnuts contain high levels of oleic essential fatty acids and is suitable for all skin types due to its properties.  It is slightly astringent which makes it suitable for oily skin, and is very nourishing with cell regenerative properties making it an ideal additive for dry and mature skin formulations as well. It is recommended for scar tissue formulations, and is nurturing to for sensitive skin around the eyes and lips as it improves the elasticity of you skin. Also strengthens capillaries, making it ideal for skin conditions with fine broken veins.  Small amounts are often added to other carrier oils for boosting their properties.
Colour: Clear to Pale Yellow
Aromatic Description: Hazelnut has a very slight, nutty scent but remains characteristic of most carrier oils
Common Uses:  Hazelnut is used in manufacturing and in dilution with other carrier oils suitable for massage.
Consistency:  Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils.
Absorption:  Hazelnut is easily absorbed into the skin.
Shelf life:  Hazelnut oil is fairly stable; users can expect a shelf life up to 12 Months with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.
