Laureth-2

Laureth-2 is used as a thickener in liquid soaps (shower gels/shampoos) and it creates a thick formulation.

Use at 2-5%.

Update 23 October 2010: Due to my supplier selling their company, I have spent hours trying to track down the source of Laureth-2 only to discover it is not as natural as I was lead to believe when I started using and supplying it 8 years ago... it is from a renewable source, however that source contains approx 30% petroleum byproducts, the remaining 70% being plant based. 

Therefore this doesn't fit in with Amor's ethics and we will no longer be using Laureth-2 in our manufacturing and no longer holding stock of it - It will be an indent item only for those of you who like using it - the products qty listed is purely so you are able to order it, not what I have in stock - Delivery will be 1-2 weeks. 

A natural plant-based option is to use Guar Gum at 0.5% and blend this into your water before adding any other ingredients.
