Description: Citronella is a colourless to pale yellow oil with a fresh, sweet grassy and citrus aroma.
Major constituents: A typical chemical composition of Citronella Essential Oil: Citronella oil from Java contains not less than 85% alcohols and 15% aldehydes while the oil from Sri Lanka contains 55-65% acetylizable alcohols (geraniol) and 7-15% total aldehydes (citronellal).
Indications: Citronella oil may be used for combating excessive perspiration and oily skin. It has traditionally been used to ward off insects.
Emotions: The fresh citrus aroma of citronella is invigorating and uplifting.
Directions: Adults: Add 5 drops to oil vaporiser, 1-3 times daily. Children: Half the adult dose.
Safety: Citronella oil is non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitising. Avoid contact with eyes.
